This machine is used with the help of software to do several jobs.
The computer has the following parts/components
- System unit
1. Monitor –
It is an output device which is used to display data
2. Keyboard –
It is an input device using this device the user can enter data into the computer
3. Mouse –
It is an input device it generally used to input commands to the computer.
4. System unit –
It is the processing unit of computer which processes the input data & displays the result on the monitor screen.
The following components are present inside the system unit.
- Micro processor
- HDD cable
- FDD cable
- Display Card / Graphics Card
- CD/DVD ROM Drive
The board is used to support all the components of computer. all the components are connected to the motherboard directly or indirectly.
This is known as brain of the computer. it is used to process the input data. it controls all the components of computer.
RAM – (Random Access Memory )
This component is used to store data temporarily. whatever you type on the key board it reaches the RAM and then move for further processing.
HDD – ( Hard Disk Drive )
It is used to store data permanently.
FDD – ( Floppy Disk Drive )
This device is used to drive the floppy disk. it can write data into the floppy disk & it can read data from the floppy disk.
HDD Cable –
It connect the hard disk drive to motherboard.
FDD Cable –
It connect the floppy disk drive to motherboard.
SMPS – ( Switch Mode Power Supply )
It convert AC to DC & supply DC power to the computer components.
It enclosed all the components of computer.
CD ROM Drive – ( Compact Disk Read Only Memory )
It is used to read data from the CD ROM.
Display Card –
It supply the data to the monitor.
8 Bit = 1 ByteKB – Kilobyte, MB – Megabyte, GB – Gigabyte, TB – Terabyte, PB – Petabyte
1024 byte = 1 KB
1024 KB = 1 MB
1024 MB = 1 GB
1024 GB = 1 TB
1024 TB = 1 PB
